The Rebirth of a Blog

Welcome to the restart of Sudbay Tech Talk! I began this blog in the spring of 2008. At that time I was in my fourth year as the Technology Integration Teacher at the James Russell Lowell Elementary School in Watertown, MA. The blog was a way to share technology tools and integration ideas with educators. After posting somewhat sporadically for a few months, the blog fell dormant.

Now, after 3 ½ years of gathering dust, the blog is getting some breath blown back into it. What’s changed during my absence from posting? Lots and a little. I’m still at the Lowell, but this year I made a significant change by joining our 4/5 team as a classroom teacher. It has been hard work, but I am truly enjoying the challenges and rewards that come with teaching fourth and fifth grade students across the curriculum.

When I created this blog I was looking through the lens of a Technology Integration Teacher. My perspective has now shifted to that of a classroom teacher using technology. The goal of the blog, however, remains the same – to highlight ways technology can enhance instruction, empower students, and facilitate collaboration and communication among students, teachers, parents, and administrators.

Please join me as I open a new chapter of my blog (and my teaching)!
